The Difference Between a Simulation and a Promise

A digital simulation of your future smile is a genuinely useful tool and a genuinely misleading marketing image, depending entirely on how it is presented to you.

What a simulation legitimately is

A design proposal grounded in your facial proportions, your existing anatomy and what is clinically achievable. It becomes the wax-up, the mock-up, the preparation guides and eventually the restorations.

It is a working document that everyone involved refers back to, which is exactly why it has value.

What it cannot account for

How your gums will respond and settle. How much tooth structure is genuinely available. The condition found under existing restorations. Your bite, unless it was properly recorded.

It also cannot predict biology. Tissue heals differently in different people, and no rendering knows which you are.

The distinction that matters

An image presented as this is what we are aiming for, and here is what could change it, is a plan. The same image presented as this is what you will get is a promise nobody can keep.

The image is often identical. The framing is the entire difference, and it is the thing worth listening for.

The stage that turns proposal into agreement

The in-mouth try-in. That is where a screen image becomes something you can see in your own mirror, in daylight, on your own face.

Any clinic that shows you a simulation but does not include a try-in has given you the marketing without the validation.

Ask what could make the result differ from the simulation. A clinic that answers that specifically is planning your case. One that says nothing will is selling you an image.

For an individual assessment of your case, you can request a consultation at our Bogotá practice.
