What Is Actually Included in a Dental Implant Quote?

Most disputes about dental implant costs are not really about price. They are about two people believing a quote covered different things. Here is the checklist that prevents that.

The three pieces of an implant

An implant is not one object. There is the post that goes into the bone, the abutment that screws into it, and the crown you see and chew with. Some quotes cover all three. Some cover one.

That single distinction explains most of the price differences that look shocking at first glance.

The list to ask for

Ask whether the quote includes the CBCT scan, any extractions, bone grafting if needed, a temporary tooth while you heal, the abutment, the final crown, and the follow-up visits.

Then ask the awkward one: what happens to the price if you open the site and find you need a graft? Get a number now, not later.

Things that are legitimately extra

Treating gum disease before placing an implant is not an upsell, it is a prerequisite. So is dealing with a neighbouring tooth that is failing. A good practice will tell you about these before treatment, not during.

What a complete quote looks like

Every stage named, every stage priced, contingencies listed with their costs, and a clear statement of what is guaranteed and for how long. It should be boring to read. Boring is what you want.

If you take one thing from this: ask for it in writing and read it at home. Nothing good is lost by waiting a day.
